Poker Improvement Journey

Hello. My name is Cameron Pass, and I live in rural Wyoming. I play in a weekly home game, and I spend a lot of time grinding micro-limit poker online on Global Poker (User: VoightKampf) using Sweeps Coins.

Even though today is January 17th, I’ve decided to finally commit to a New Year’s resolution: to work on improving my poker game in a more deliberate and active way than I have over the past twenty years.

My plan is to post here as often as I can—ideally daily—as I learn, study, and (hopefully) improve. I’ll be breaking down hands I’m unsure about, talking through leaks in my game, and exploring what it really means to get better at poker—not just as a game, but as a long-term pursuit.

A few years ago, I took the initial “free” $10 in Sweeps Coins on Global Poker and managed to grow it to around $600. Given the number of hours I’ve put in, that’s… respectable, but hardly crushing it.

For several years I focused mostly on tournaments, typically in the $0.50 to $8.80 buy-in range, slowly building the bankroll. Over the past year, I’ve shifted more toward cash games, primarily at the $0.05/$0.10 level.

I’ve accumulated a stack of poker books, and I also have access to tools like You Tube and ChatGPT. My next step is to put together a structured improvement plan, post it here, and do my best to actually follow it—then see where it takes my game.

Let’s see how this goes.
